Committee Description:
Serves the membership in developing and promoting programs and services relating to commercial and investment properties, exchanging of property information, enhancing members knowledge of such properties, practices and procedures, facilitating teaming when appropriate to accomplish specific transactions and to encourage networking between members. We will seek to enhance member’s freedom and ability to conduct their individual business successfully with integrity, professionalism and competency and through collection action, to better serve the public and promote the preservation of real property rights the role of REALTORS® in real property transactions.
Affiliate Education:
The CCIM Institute(link is external) offers an extensive array of commercial investment management courses for those pursuing the CCIM designation. Additionally, CCIM Institute’s Ward Center for Real Estate Studies(link is external) offers online education and live workshops in topics including current financial analysis strategies, communication skills, advanced negotiation techniques, high-tech marketing strategies, and sponsoring group investments.
Work towards your IREM credential more through IREM’s course offerings(link is external) in real estate management. IREM offers classroom courses, self-paced online education, webinars, and on-demand learning for real estate professionals.
RLI’s LANDU(link is external) offers face-to-face courses, online courses, web seminars, and On-Location Education Programs that are relevant to the unique business of land, as well as preparing real estate professionals for the Accredited Land Consultant certification.
The SIOR Center for Career Advancement(link is external) provides commercial real estate education focused on the industrial and office arenas. SIOR offers e-learning courses, conference education, webinars, and resources for commercial boards.
While membership and the CRE designation is offered by invitation only, the organization serves as a resource for commercial professionals on a variety of topics. Code of Ethics Training:
NAR’s Board of Directors approved a change to the Code of Ethics training requirement, extending it from every two years to every three years. This extends the current cycle deadline from March 1, 2022, to Dec. 31, 2024.
REALTORS® are required to complete ethics training of not less than 2 hours, 30 minutes of instructional time. The training must meet specific learning objectives and criteria established by the National Association of REALTORS®.
Training may be completed through NAR’s online courses or through another method, such as online or classroom courses via local/state associations. Read the consequences for failing to complete Code of Ethics training.
