Wildfire Disaster Relief Resources

The AAR has compiled a list of resources to help those affected by the wildfires. Some of the resources are specific to the real estate family. Please feel free to share this page with your peers, family and friends as needed.

  • Free community Real Estate and Housing Help Center for anyone who needs assistance in finding housing
  • This walk-in service is being held at the Arcadia Association of Realtors® building located at: 601 S. First Ave., Arcadia
  • Help Center hours of operation are 10:00am to 2:00pm Monday through Saturday
  • Help Center is being staffed by association volunteers
  • Guests will receive lists of places for rent, lease applications to use and be able to ask questions of our volunteers
  • No appointment needed!

FEMA (Federal Emergency Management agency)

FEMA DISASTER RESOURCE CENTER OPENS IN PASADENA

A FEMA Disaster Resource Center has opened at the Pasadena City College Community Education Center, 3035 E. Foothill Blvd. Pasadena, CA 91107, and will be open to the public daily from 9 am – 8 pm. The Center helps Californians affected by wildfires with home damage, property loss, or emergency needs. It provides federal aid application assistance, updates on FEMA applications, and information on the appeals process. More info at can be found at this link. L.A. County Assessor Relief

“Misfortune and Calamity” Property Tax Relief 

Property damaged or destroyed by the windstorms or wildfires may qualify for temporary property tax relief through the Misfortune and Calamity program. Key details include:

  •  Eligibility: The damage must exceed $10,000 in the current market value of the property.
  • Filing Deadline: Claims must be filed within 12 months of the date of the damage.
  • Benefits: Approved claims may result in temporary property tax relief, with adjustments made to reflect the reduced value of your property until repairs or rebuilding are completed.

Airbnb is providing free temporary housing for people displaced by the wildfires: AirBnB Housing


Hilton Hotels and American Express

Hilton Hotels and American Express are donating 20,000 hotel room nights at no charge to impacted families and individuals across the Greater Los Angeles area. To determine your eligibility for assistance, you need to apply through the non-profit organization 211 LA. Visit their website at https://211la.org/. Once there, search for “Emergency Housing Assistance for Wildfire Survivors.”

If any Realtor® lost a lockbox due to the wildfires SUPRA will replace that lockbox at no charge. We can help you with this if this applies to your or someone you know.
